DEF Call for Papers 2023


Special Issue on “Non-traditional amortization plans and new approaches to traditional ones”

Recent developments in banking and finance sectors have stimulated renewed attention on loan amortization plans. Taking into account both the theoretical aspects and the practical relevance of the topic, the guest editors:

are very pleased to announce a special issue of DEF titled “Non-traditional amortization plans and new approaches to traditional ones”. 

The opening date for the special issue is December 15, 2022. The closing date for submissions is March 31, 2023.

Manuscript Submission

Submitted papers should be original works and should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. The manuscripts should be prepared in keeping with the Instructions for Authors provided on the Decisions in Economics and Finance homepage:

Special issue on “Life Insurance Mathematics and Actuarial Science” dedicated to the memory of Ermanno Pitacco

are pleased to announce a special issue of DEF with contributions dedicated to Ermanno Pitacco (1947-2022), beloved colleague, who was associate editor of DEF and a long-standing member of AMASES.

Ermanno gave many important contributions to actuarial science, with particular regard to life insurance and, more generally, to the insurances of the person. He was strongly involved in disseminating the insurance and actuarial culture, among students, practitioners, young researchers. He was very active in the actuarial community, in Italy and abroad, serving on journal editorial boards and executive committees of actuarial associations, attending international meetings (often as a keynote speaker), and visiting several universities and institutions. This special issue celebrates his commitment in the field of actuarial science and is primarily devoted to papers on life and health insurance. However, contributions on other areas of actuarial science are welcome. The opening date for the special issue is December 15, 2022. The closing date for submissions is May 31, 2023.

are pleased to announce a special issue of DEF with contributions dedicated to Erio Castagnoli (1943-2019), beloved teacher and colleague, who was one of the founders and early editors of (the previous incarnation of) DEF and a long-standing member of AMASES.

Erio gave many important contributions to decision theory, mathematical finance and applied mathematics more generally. In his tenure as a faculty member at the Università degli studi di Parma and then at the Università Bocconi, he was a fundamental figure in the education of a large group of researchers and scholars, quite a few of which transitioned from the role of student into that of coauthor. This special issue celebrates his educational leadership, and will be primarily devoted to papers written by his students or co-authors, or on topics affine to Erio’s research contributions. The opening date for the special issue is November 1, 2022. Please do not submit for the special issue before that date. The closing date for submissions is January 31, 2023.
